Marae Visit coming up!!!!!

Dear Parents and Caregivers, Marae Trip, Wednesday 10th April. Room 5 will be travelling by bus to Aotea Marae, Makirikiri Road, to take part in a powhiri and to see all the parts of a wharenui. Our Social Worker Tane Cooper has arranged for tutors to be available to help with learning activities. Children need to be in correct uniform and have a packed lunch, snacks and water bottle. Of course we expect the highest standard of manners and behaviour as we are representing Huia Range School. We will leave at 9:45 to be off the bus and ready to begin at 10:00. As always we do need parent helpers who are able to spend the day with us. We are not able to have pre-schoolers with us, sorry. The cost is $5 payable to the office please. This covers the bus and koha. Please sign and return the permission slip below. If you are able to help we would be most appreciative. Fitness Relays

We have moved on from skipping and jump jam in our fitness time. Now we are doing relays. We have been having lots of fun learning how to roll a hoop, skip through a hoop and work together to do physical tasks as a team.

Wharenui Update

Today our portraits went up. Some of us are in the matapihi (window), some are in the tatou (door) and some are going to be in the waharoa (gate).

Fantastic Five Learn to Strive

Today we made our banner for the front of the class. AWESOME!

Wharenui

Our class wharenui is going ahead very well. Here are the photo's so far. We are learning each part and what it represents.... not perfect but a really good effort. My computer has mirrored the planning picture at the end though the labelling is clear. Tino pai nga tamariki o ruma rima.

Parent Interviews

What a fabulous response to our parent interview request. I was able to offer positive comments about all of fantastic five. There are 3 parents yet to come in so please make an appointment with Suzie at the office.
