Speeches

Congratulations to all the children who delivered their speeches this week. We heard some excellent persuasive speeches with sound reasoning. Martin delivered his speech to our Super Hero assembly on Friday. Well done to Kezia and Chiane who will compete in the school competition. Good luck! I wish you all well as I head off to Australia. Mrs Arnold is looking forward to teaching Fantastic 5!

Scholastic prizes

Well done room 5. Earlier this year we all entered a crossword competition through scholastic books. Having waited and waited for the results we finally heard that Haley had won a prize. As a result all our class received a book and Mrs Gibbs was awarded a voucher. Well done Hayley!

Postponement

Unfortunately the marae visit is delayed because a tangi is being held at the marae. Please keep a look out for a notice to give you the new day. On the bright side here is the completed sun art from our science exchange. It is mixed media using pastel, cellophane, indian ink, sugar paper and crayon.

Marae Visit coming up!!!!!

Dear Parents and Caregivers, Marae Trip, Wednesday 10th April. Room 5 will be travelling by bus to Aotea Marae, Makirikiri Road, to take part in a powhiri and to see all the parts of a wharenui. Our Social Worker Tane Cooper has arranged for tutors to be available to help with learning activities. Children need to be in correct uniform and have a packed lunch, snacks and water bottle. Of course we expect the highest standard of manners and behaviour as we are representing Huia Range School. We will leave at 9:45 to be off the bus and ready to begin at 10:00. As always we do need parent helpers who are able to spend the day with us. We are not able to have pre-schoolers with us, sorry. The cost is $5 payable to the office please. This covers the bus and koha. Please sign and return the permission slip below. If you are able to help we would be most appreciative. Nga mihi Mrs Lee Gibbs _______________________ has my permission to travel by bus to the Marae. I am/ am not able to be a parent helper on the Rm 5 Marae trip. Signed ______________________________ Don't forget to send your forms back.!!!!!
